From 27 February, REALRIDER SOS enters a new chapter.
Over the past few months, we’ve taken a hard look at who we are and what riders truly need from us. The answer wasn’t complicated. When something goes wrong on the road, nothing else matters except getting help there fast.
So we’ve stripped things back.
We’ve removed the extras. The distractions. The features that others already do well.
And we’ve doubled down on the one thing we exist to do better than anyone else, detect serious motorcycle crashes and alert emergency services quickly and reliably.
Back to Our Core Purpose – Crash Detection
REALRIDER SOS was never meant to be a route planner or a social riding platform. It was built to protect riders when they can’t call for help themselves.
As our Chief Operating Officer, Steven Robertson, says:
“Where we’re pointing the business now is directly at the one thing we do best, and that is crash detection.
We need to concentrate on the core function and the reason we exist in the market, which is to keep motorcyclists safe.”
There are brilliant platforms for mapping and group rides. That’s not our lane anymore.
If you want safety real, proven, emergency-linked protection, that’s where we come in.
Faster When Seconds Count
Behind the scenes, we’ve invested heavily in strengthening the technology that powers REALRIDER SOS.
Upgraded infrastructure. Enhanced data centres. More robust systems. Smarter processing.
Why? Because in a serious crash, seconds matter.
Emergency response times are now improved by up to 40% in urban areas and up to 50% in rural locations compared to riding without the app. That’s not a cosmetic update. That’s meaningful, real-world impact.
We continue to provide coverage across the UK and Northern Ireland, Europe, Japan, the USA, Canada and Australasia — with systems that are now quicker, more accurate and more dependable than ever.
No More “Just Trust Us”
One of the biggest changes is something simple, but powerful.
You can now test it.
Our new in-app Test Mode lets you check that the system is active and see how it would respond in the event of a serious crash.
As Steven explains:
“Previously, users had to take it on trust. Now they can test the device. The app will confirm that, and had this been a real event, we would be calling an ambulance.”
If you’re putting your faith in something that could one day save your life, you deserve that reassurance.
Built for Riders Who Ride
From 27 February, our annual subscription will move from £36 to £60. That reflects the scale of the investment we’ve made, and continue to make in improving crash detection accuracy, infrastructure and response performance.
REALRIDER SOS already powers Triumph’s SOS software, and we’re actively exploring further integrations with other manufacturers.
This isn’t about being everything to everyone.
It’s about being the very best at the moment that matters most.
